Winged Angel #3 -Assemblage

Finished this angel with gold rays and a tear drop shape stone. The molded face is recessed into the hardware piece.

This angel is a work in progress but very close to being finished!!Been busy with a sick family, so time is very limited in creating art. Hopefully we're on the tail end of it all!
Anyway, this assemblage is made of hardware pieces and face is made of clay.

I Won!!!

Just recieved this wonder ATC from Dale Meister. He created this card for Jen Worden's Challenge "Seeing Red" and part of the challenge was to give the art work away to a stranger and I was that stranger. He decided that the first non-host person to comment on his blog about this ATC would receive the work! The color and texture on this card is just wonderful! Thanks Dale!!!

This beauty is from Jen Worden herself! She does a random drawing for every challenge, and the artists who participates have a chance of winning that piece of art work she creates especially for the challenge! What a bargain! Thanks Jen for this wonderful piece of art work!!!

Challenge #7 - "Simplicity"

This is Challenge #7 from Jen Worden's Weekly Challenges. The theme is "Simplicity" and the medium was either assemblage's or collage. You were to select the one you are not to familiar with. So, I chose collage for my challenge. I took several of my prints(collagraph and woodblock) and cut them into strips. Layering them horizontally. I placed tiny white strips of paper vertically for the fence. I finished it with a moon in the sky.

Paper Dolls with Texture

I'm still experimenting with new techniques with my paper dolls. These two were done with acrylic paints on canvas. I really love texture and I tried bringing texture to my dolls. I just love the feel of them when I touch them.

Paper Doll

I've been playing around with paper dolls. I tried to incorporate some of my prints.
The head is made from clay and I really like the unpainted look of the face. I tried painting the face but that turned out pretty gruesome, so for now it's paintless faces.

Challenge #5 - Redo of a Magazine photo

Challenge #5 of Jen Worden's weekly challenges. We are to take any magazine photo and outline the image with marker and then gesso areas you desire to paint. We are experimenting with different compositions. My magazine photo came from a Nick's Jr. Family Magazine I happened to stumble upon in my daughter's room. The image is a mother who is balancing a head full of dirty dishes on her head.
I worked the image several times over with the marker and gesso. I also took a razor blade to it and scraped randomly throughout the page. It was an interesting challenge!

Assemblage Doll - Zany

This assemblage piece has a moveable head. One of my goals was to create some dolls with moveable heads such as the bobble head dolls. This one kind of happened by accident and my husband was the one to point it out to me. I was ready to glue it down firmly to the body and S. asked why? I couldn't think of reason to do it. It only moves side to side.
